Web Certificate Errors – 13 October

Many prominent websites, including WikiPedia and The Guardian, are displaying security errors today. The problem affect does not affect everyone, but many. And it also affects access to the Anno website, the Anno Client Portal and our hosting servers.

GlobalSign, one of the major security certificate issuers, inadvertently revoked parts of their root certificate chain. This is causing websites that rely on certificates from GlobalSign to display a security issue. GlobalSign reports that they have fixed the problem, but due to caching the problem may prevail for some users for up to four days.

If you are experiencing a problem access an Anno server, e.g. cPanel or Webmail is displaying a security warning, then please contact us. While we cannot correct the status of the revoked certificate for you, we may be able to provide you with a temporary method to suppress these certificate errors.
