We received some comforting words of assurance today from the data centre where we host our Client Portal and primary name service. They are ready to weather the storm (pun intended) that is imminent.
Winter Storm Juno is quickly approaching the New York City Metro area with blizzard conditions expected beginning late today and into tomorrow. Our engineering staff is scheduled to remain onsite throughout the duration of the storm to maintain and ensure operability.
We have prepped the data center by ensuring all systems are operating at full capacity through our inspections/maintenance rounds. A fuel contractor has been confirmed in support for emergency fuel deliveries.
Systems contractors are on notice that they may be required to respond to the site on short notice. These contractors include representatives from the following groups; generators, UPS systems, chillers, fuel system delivery, switchgear and snow removal.
The facility staff have inventoried and complemented their emergency supplies of first aid, flashlights, batteries, rain gear, tarps, hardware, sump pumps, extension cords, wet/dry vacs and other such materials.
Very reassuring indeed to know it will be all hands on deck ;)
