You can now disable (and enable) Mod Security in your cPanel.
The Mod Security website firewall is an invaluable security resource, so why would you want to disable it? Well, sometimes it gets in the way while developing your website. We are finding this to be true especially when doing intense work with some WordPress plugins. You can forgive Mod Security for being overly cautious with WordPress — it is a very popular target for attackers and better be safe than sorry.
To temporarily disable Mod Security, simply log in to cPanel and use the “Mod Security” function. If you have multiple domains associated with your website, you have the option to disable the service for all or only specific domains.
Do remember to enable Mod Security again when you are done. You really, really want the protective layer it provides.
By the way… our Mod Security rule set is provided by the very nice people at Comodo. Kudos to them!
