A WordPress website hosted on our server WWW-29 was hacked on 16 September. We found evidence that the attacker used a PHP shell script to assemble a collection configuration files for other websites (mainly WordPress and Joomla installations). These configuration files contain MySQL database credentials for the said websites.

We have completed the replacement of Linux server WWW-27. The migration completed smoothly and the new server is firing on all of its many shiny cylinders.

Linux server WWW-27 found itself under very heavy load this morning. We rebooted the server to resolve the issue. All services were back to normal by 07:30 GMT. We apologise for the inconvenience.

We will install Linux kernel updates to patch a vulnerability with the Apache web server today. The update will require a reboot of each server and hence a couple of minutes of downtime.
