Degraded international connectivity to Cape Town data centre – 23 December

The upstream network is experiencing significant packet losses at the moment. Connections from international locations to website in Cape Town may be intermittently slow.

Update 20:10:
The connectivity problem was caused by a DOS attack on a website in the data centre (not hosted by us). The data centre is in the process of mitigating the attack by blocking the offending connections. The situation should be back to normal soon.

Update 22:20:
The problem appears to be resolved.
