All services are back to normal after server W-29 in Dallas data centre suffered a catastrophic filesystem failure on 11 December. Client website and email were affected for up to two days.
Thank you everyone for your patience during this disruption in service. If you are missing any website or email content, please reach out to us at support@anno.com.
Thanks for the feedback, Stephen. Any idea timelines for restoring the data and recovery ETA?
Have received the new server hardware and should have have it configured in the next hour. And only after that process to restore from backup will start.
It would be unwise from me to guess an ETA. Once the restore process starts, I should be able to offer an estimate.
Thanks for the update take it all my system are on this one..
Any ETA?
Thanks for the updates, Stephen. Understand this happens and that the team is doing all they can watching data transfer as fast as bits and bytes can ….
Those clients that have been restored state they only have email up to Saturday. Is email after Saturday lost forever? Or as they being held elsewhere and will be pulled down once the restore is finished? Or is the backup only a Saturday backup??
Yes email that reach the server after we made the backup and not downloaded to your computer would be gone forever. And what happed while the server was offline, depends on the sending server. Some servers (like the Anno servers) retry sending for a day or so before giving up. Other servers may give up immediately and bounce the message back to the sender.
Do we have an update on the progress for the “single archive per account ” backup?
I do not see 50% of my domains on CPanel. I assume this is noting to be concerned about?
